Since November 28th, 1983, WGCY has been serving Gibson City and surrounding areas with the best easy-listening, beautiful music, plus local information. Broadcasting at 6,000 watts, WGCY has a powerful signal that covers not only Gibson City, but most of east central Illinois, including Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal!
WGCY features local news at 7:05, 8:06, 12:10, and 5:06 weekdays. Sports is reported at 7:30 and 12:30 each day as well.
High School sports are also a common feature on our airwaves as well. We broadcast two-time state championship GCMS Falcons football and basketball broadcasts as well as select Ridgeview Mustangs basketball games. WGCY is the home of the HOIC Basketball Tournament. Our sports talk show, “Speaking of Sports”, airs on Saturday mornings during the high school sports season.
